My labor story

Like everyone else says, each pregnancy is different, each labor is different. With this pregnancy, I had mild morning sickness that last until the 11th week of the pregnancy. I had BH contractions from the start until 38th week.
Anyway, my labor wasn't easy as with my 1st. Supposely, it's easier the 2nd time around, right? NO!

Friday July 24th: I had a normal day. Picked up Carla from school, did the cooking & all that... Around 9:30pm, my contractions was getting stronger and I went to the bathroom & saw blood on my pantie. I panicked! I was freaked out!!!!!!!!!! I called my Dr. & he said to time my contractions & if they keep getting closer together & stronger, go to hospital right away. He'll call me back within 1 hour to check on me, but within that 1 hour, I couldn't bare it anymore & decided to go to hospital. I arrived at hospital & was checked in at triage & dr. did an internal measurement that came to 2cm dialated. They said they could induce me if I wanted to, but I chose not to be induced because I want this baby to come naturally on her own time. I then went home.

Saturday July 25th: My contractions was every 10 minutes for the whole day!!!!!! They are painful contractions too. Each time when I get one, I would clench my teeth & stood still for 30 second until it went away. Alan & I decided to go dr. office to get an internal exam, but I couldn't even walk to the dr. office because I had to stop in the middle of the street & wait for contractions to be over... Everyone was staring at us. We decided to call a taxi to get to the dr. office.

We arrived there & I was still 2cm dialated. Dr. said baby should be here any day now.
Then, around 7:20pm, I started to time my contractions again & was still 10 minutes apart. Around 8:00pm, my contractions was 7 minutes apart & was in excrutiating pain! I started having tears in my eyes! Then, 8:30pm, Alan said "YOU NEED TO GO TO HOSPITAL!" I got out of bed & omg, I could BARELY walk!!!
We got to the hospital & I was crying in pain & all the nurses came to me & escorted me to the room & ripped my clothes off to examine me. I was 5cm opened & was admitted right away.
I asked for epidural right away & it came 30 minutes later.

By 10pm, I was 8cm open & by 11pm, I was 9cm open. Then, it took hours for me to get to 10cm. Towards the end, I felt like I had to push. I felt like I had to take the BIGGEST DUMP! I started pushing & was feeling the contractions! I felt everythinggggggggg!!!!!!!!!! It felt like I didn't get the epidural at all. Dr. had to lower the epidural dose to make me feel something. I was in pain! I led out some poop!!!! The nurse had to clean up.
Then, by 2am, I was 10cm & was ready to really push the baby out. Some 20 mins of pushing, Jasmine was out 2:22am July 26th weighing 6 pounds 4.5 oz, 18.75 inches long.

I recall from my last birth experience, it was different than this. I don't want to get into every little details but this was harder than my 1st labor. With my 1st, it was sooooooooo much easier & painless!
I'm so glad this is over & now recovering.

Baby Jasmine is here!!!!!!!!!!

My little angel is here! Jasmine is born on July 26, Sunday @ 2:22am weighing 6 pounds 4.5 oz, 18.75 inches long.

Big sister, Carla loves Jasmine....so far so good. Hasn't gotten jealous, YET

Baby #2

I'm 15 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I'm very excited to have another baby girl on the way!!!!!!!!!!!! My EDD is 8/3/09!

The 1st few weeks I had nausea & was exhausted, but I feel fine now. I got my energy back, thank goodness. I did my 1st trimester screening & everything looked normal. I have another ultrasound coming up in March & that's to screen the whole baby to continue looking for abnormalties.

So far, I've gained 16 pounds in the past 4 mths. I was told by my doctor to control my eating if I want to deliever a baby without complication. I can't help but to eat eat eat. I am starving 24/7. I eat whatever I can find in the fridge, in the cabinet, around my desk, around my house, everywhere!!!!!!! If I see food, I'll eat.

Sometimes, I'll feel flutters in my stomach & I love that feeling. Nothing feels good when a human being grows inside of u & it begins to move...

I'm continuing to work until maybe the last 2 weeks I'm due.

Carla is turning 3 in April!!!!! We are throwing her a b-day party in school & at home. So now, I gotta find party supplies so I can have enough to feed a class of 10 kids plus teachers. She always comes to mommy & daddy & says "happy birthday to Carla on april 12th" and she knows she wants a b-day party so she's looking forward to it.

Skincare:

I've been using ShiSeido White Lucent skin line since about a year now & I love the product. I do recommend this to everyone. It brightens my skin & I don't look tire as much. It's not oily & greasy like some other skin care products. With this, I also use Bliss. I love everything from Bliss especially the pore scrubbing beads.

I have a b-day party to go to at the end of October. Anyone recommend what to get for a 3 yr old boy??? I was thinking of Thomas the train??? I know EVERY boys loves this.

29 months update

Carla can talk alot now. Her mandarin is better than I am... sometimes I gotta ask Alan to interpret. But her english is just as good as her chinese. She learns both languages in school because we have 2 bilingual teachers in each classroom.

I think I've gotten Carla into a bookworm now. I know I've always been reading to her since 5 mths old & now, she's been addicting to books morning til night. Once she wakes up, she asks for books, the minute she goes to bed, she asks for books. She carries a book around with her once she gets home from school & just everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm constantly reading to her. She knows all her numbers, ABC's, colors, shapes, animals, & whole bunch of other items. Alan & I tried getting her to watch tv but she ignores it completely. She wants us to turn on the tv to the cartoon network, but she ignores it. She always wants our 500% attention on her.

Carla just hates me but is totally daddy's girl. When she wants to be read, she comes to ME. (yeah, thanks for using me) All other times, she hangs out with daddy. She's crazy-glued to his body. She has a memory now (or always had a memory?) 'cause everytime daddy wants to go out & get something & he'll say something like "daddy will be right back 'cause daddy's gonna get a big watermelon for Carla." Once he gets back w/o the watermelon, Carla asks, "where is my watermelon?" puahahahahhahaa........... so yeah, we can't ly to her anymore. Not that we always ly to her but sometimes we gotta do it so we get stuff done.

This girl's behavior is totally outta control. She cries to everything now. She's a big time tattle tell. She's moody at times. She has the biggest attitude...OMG........what do u see here? A BRAT!!!!!!!! I know when I was a kid, I wasn't like this. My mom said I was a good girl & behaved & very easy to take care of. hahaha! I hope this is just a phase she's going through.

Everyone says she has nice manners. She says thank you, please & excuse me. Sometimes if I'm in a way, she'll say "excuse me, excuse me".......it's tooo cute!

Raising a kid ( piece of cake) jk

I'm by no means a perfect mother. I don't do everything perfect & I know people around me will tell me that I'm doing certain things wrong & will criticize me for them. This is why we all go through the 1st time of parenthood. Even if it's not the 1st time, we try our best to raise our children to the best of our abilities & capabilities. We learn from our mistakes. Nobody is perfect!!! My mother, or father or in laws or cousins will always have things to say of the way we raise our daughter. In my opinion, kids supposed to go through the kids stage & do what kids like to do. I don't mean like fighting or stealing or doing harmful things, but just let the kids be kids sometimes. I hear stories from families that parents need to be strict with their children or else SPANK SPANK SPANK. COME ONNNNNNNNNN, I know I don't spoil my daughter, but I know where the limit is. My daughter will sometime throw tandrum, will sometimes cry if she doesn't get the things she wants, & will embarrass us parents, but in the end, she's only a 2 year old!!! You cannot expect a 2 year old to behave the way everybody want her to behave!!! For us, we try our best to explain things to her, teach her manners, educate her, whatever it takes. She will not get it the very 1st time; this is why we repeat repeat repeat. Repeat until she gets the point. It takes time. It takes energy & effort to raise a kid. So next time when you see kids mis-behaving whether in your uncle's house or at the mall or park, just think what their parents are going through to teach their kids... Every parents want the best for their kids. DON'T BE JUDGEMENTAL!

Cancun, Mexico 2008

A vacation w/o the baby!!!!! hehe

Alan and I were in Mexico for a week just to get away from everything else. It was truly a relaxing & enjoyable vacation. Which vacation isn't relaxing or enjoyable, right????? To our suprise, there were LOTS of kids & baby infants. We always thought Cancun was a place for the young people going there for spring breaks! Who says that?! There were families there ranging from 1-80 year olds! We saw lots of strollers & mother's milking their babies. It was so sweet, we saw this couple who were near 80's & they were holding hands walking down the sandy beach!

I dont' know how to swim, but I still enjoy the water & the pool. I'm a bit afraid of the water sometimes & I was in the KIDDIE pool at one time. puahaha! We went to see some of the ancient mayan ruins & was away from the beach during our stay. I LOVE JET-SKIING!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the most exciting part. I was sitting in back of Alan while he operates it. I would totally go jet-skiing again & again..... He went snorkeling while I just stay on the boat because the water was around 10 feet high & I get SCARED of that!!

Then, we went to Xcaret & Alan went snorkeling again on this long river while I just stay on land & explore the trails of Xcaret. It was beautiful & I swear, I must have walked at least 6 miles that day. It was tiring. At one point, the river that Alan was snorkeling on was 634 feet!!!!!!!! Wholly macroni!!!!!!!!! I thought 10 feet was high enough.......ugh, I was glad I didn't go or else, I'd be crying my ass out, yet, I see kids under 3 year old was snorkeling w/ their parents.......now that's real guts!!!

Well, my little devil went to the ER for the 2nd time because of her nursery maid's arm. The 1st time it happened when she was under 1 when MIL was taken care of her. The 2nd time it happened when we went to the aquarium & FIL held Carla by 1 arm! After that, she kept saying "hurt" & pointing to her left arm. She wasn't using it & was being fussy about it... So then, we went home & she couldn't climb up the bed w/ her left arm, so, we took her to the ER. The dr took a look at it & confirmed she had dislocated her bone...

School update:

Carla will be going to the next level class---2-3 year old toddler class on the 15th--this Thursday!!! I'm so excited & scared at the same time. She got used to the teachers and kids in her current class & now she's rolling over to the next level. That's a big adjustment! We went there to visit & teachers are very nice. I hope Carla blends in easily & will not fuss about it...

Her eating habit got a little better, but not much. Her main meal is still pediasure with cow's milk & drinks about 20 oz a day with other solid. Her weight @ 24 mths is 23 pounds and 33 inch which makes it 10th percentile. Other than that, everything else is normal. She can talk in sentences ONLY IN CHINESE!! I think chinese is easier than english. I'm not worry because once she starts pre-school and kindergarden, she'll pick up the english really quick..! The thing is that her chinese is BETTER than I am! hahaha!!! I talk to her in English & she responds me back in chinese...hahaha niceeeeeeeeee. In the future, she can teach me! She'll be my teacher! hahaha!

Mexico

Alan and I are leaving on our vacation to Cancun, Mexico in early June for a week WITHOUT BABY! Last time we brought Carla on our cruise & she was pretty fussy so, this time, decided NOT to bring her.. She's 10 times worse now than when she was 14 mths old. She throws tandrum, cries loud & hard in public places & runs all over the places. Not a good idea to bring an evil little toddler on vacation..

Anyone been to Cancun, Mexico? I know it's a place for young people but who gives a darn, we just want to enjoy the beach, water, weather, food, getaway from home.... We're also planning on visiting the famous ruins there...

Carla's 2nd Birthday

Saturday was Carla's 2nd birthday. I was too lazy to go to14th street to get mickey mouse balloons so, I just went to the dollar store nearyby to get some... She loves balloons! Then we spent all day outside & then towards evening, I went to pick up the cake & we invited Alan's aunt & Carla's cousin, Fiona.

Carla only had a little bit of the cake. And then, I smeared the icing on her face!!!!!!!! puahahahahha, too bad I didn't take pictures of that because I was having wayyyyy toooo much fun doing that. puahahahhaha We had a lot of leftover so, the next day, I finished it all!

After we had the cake, we took Carla to the park & stayed there for an hour with her cousin. Then, it was time to go home & she was crying nonstop. She was getting ready to take a bath so, I grabbed the camera & took pics of her crying, which I LOVE TO DO, yeah, I'm so weird!!!!
